On the 8 October, 1945 North American Percy Le Baron Spencer, patented an apparatus which was converted into the microwave oven. The firm of Raytheon developed a program that would introduce the microwave into kitchens. The result was an apparatus by Radarange that was used in cooking. However, it was large and heavy and was used in hospitals and military kitchens. In 1967 the first domestic ovens were being made.
